Local government assessment in action

OADBY AND WIGSTON BC

Oadby and Wigston Borough Council in Leicestershire has been using Informed Assessment for a number of its technical, managerial and executive assessments. Typically the assessment process lasts a half-day and is scheduled to take place immediately before formal panel interviews. The candidates are asked to sit a number of assessment exercises based on an analysis of the job and person specification, and the results are then fed back to the selection panel in order to help them arrive at informed, fair and objective selection decisions.

Feedback is always offered to the candidates, whether successful or unsuccessful.

Informed Assessment has taken the time to really understand how we work as a Council. Their assessments are thorough and relevant, and are very helpful to us when considered alongside the results of the panel interviews.’
